Automatic hotel rebooking for travel agencies

Hotel prices keep moving after your client has booked. A room confirmed today can be cheaper next week, and in most agencies nobody has time to check. Trekko does it for you: every hotel booking that still has free cancellation is checked automatically each day, and when the same room on the same dates becomes cheaper, Trekko books the lower rate, cancels the original and credits your agency's share of the saving.

The problem: savings no one has time to find

Agents know prices drop after booking. Catching it means searching the same hotel again and again, comparing room types and board basis line by line, then cancelling and rebooking without leaving the client unprotected for a single moment. Across dozens of open bookings, that work rarely gets done, so the saving stays with the supplier.

How automatic rebooking works

The rebooking engine looks at confirmed, active hotel bookings whose free-cancellation window is still open. It searches each one on a fixed schedule every day and compares the result with what you paid.

Like for like, never a downgrade

A new rate counts when it is for the same hotel, the same room and the same dates. Your client's stay does not change.

New booking first, cancellation second

When a lower equivalent rate is found, Trekko confirms the new booking first and cancels the original afterwards. Your client is never left without a reservation in between.

Within free cancellation

The engine works on bookings that can still be cancelled free of charge, so the original booking is released without a cancellation fee.

Where the saving goes

Trekko is paid when it saves you money, and not otherwise: if there is no saving for your agency, there is no rebooking and no fee. When a rebooking happens, the agreed success fee is taken from the saving and your agency's share is credited back, to your prepaid balance or, on a credit account, by restoring available credit.

Your client's price does not change. The money saved is margin for your agency, earned on a booking that was already closed.

What you see

Rebooking alerts appear in your agency dashboard.

Staying in control

Rebooking is included with your account at no cost. If a particular booking must not change (for example because the client has a direct arrangement with the hotel), that booking can be excluded from rebooking.

For agencies and operators connected through the Trekko API, the booking keeps a stable identifier through any rebooking, and your system receives a signed webhook with the old and new price, so your records and accounting stay aligned without manual reconciliation.

A typical case

An agency books a family into a beach resort for the summer, months ahead, on a refundable rate. A few weeks later the hotel lowers its prices for those dates. On its next daily pass, the engine finds the same room type, same board basis and same dates at a lower rate. It confirms the new booking, cancels the original within its free-cancellation window, and credits the agency's share of the difference. The family's booking and the price they paid are unchanged; the agency's margin on that booking has grown.

What rebooking does not do

It does not touch non-refundable bookings, because cancelling them would cost money. It does not move your client to a different hotel, room type or set of dates. It does not change the price you charged your client. And it does not act once the free-cancellation deadline has passed, so a booking is never put at risk of a penalty to chase a saving.

Who benefits most

Agencies that book well ahead of travel, when prices have more time to move. Tour operators and corporate travel teams holding many refundable hotel bookings at once. And any agency that sells refundable rates and wants those rates to keep working after the sale.

A reason to sell refundable rates

Refundable rates protect your client and, with automatic rebooking, they also give your agency a chance to earn more on the same booking.

Frequently asked questions

What is automatic hotel rebooking?

A service that re-checks a confirmed hotel booking for a lower rate on the same hotel, room and dates, and rebooks it at the lower price while free cancellation is still available.

Will my client notice any change?

The hotel, room and dates stay the same, and so does the price you charged your client. The new booking is confirmed before the original is cancelled.

Which bookings are checked?

Confirmed hotel bookings made on Trekko that are not cancelled and whose free-cancellation deadline has not passed.

How often are bookings checked?

Automatically, on a fixed schedule every day, for as long as the booking remains within its free-cancellation window.

How much does it cost?

Nothing up front. Trekko takes a success fee from the saving as set in your agreement, and your agency's share is credited to your balance or credit. No saving, no fee.

Can I exclude a booking from rebooking?

Yes. Any individual booking can be excluded.

Does it work for bookings made through the API?

Yes. The booking keeps a stable identifier and your system receives a signed webhook when it is rebooked.
